Teen Therapy

In therapy, teens find solace in a nurturing sanctuary, where they are encouraged to embrace their true selves fully. Within this safe haven, they can openly share their thoughts and feelings, knowing they will be met with understanding and acceptance rather than judgment. Recognizing the vital role of parents in a teen’s journey, I actively involve them when necessary, fostering collaboration to best support their child’s growth and development.

Through this shared journey, teens not only uncover their strengths but also learn invaluable coping strategies, equipping them with the tools they need to overcome life’s challenges and cultivate resilience. In the nurturing environment of therapy, teens not only survive but thrive, emerging as confident individuals ready to embrace all that life has to offer.

Finding The Right Therapist For You

Therapy sessions are designed to be a safe space for you to heal, grow, and empower your inner voice. I want to help you achieve your goals all the while inspiring you to live, learn, and lead with authentic purpose. I believe finding a comfortable match between therapist and client is essential to successful therapy. Whether we work together in the office or online, you will always have my support as we explore challenges and themes that keep you feeling stuck. Starting therapy for the first time or deciding that you could use some support can feel intimidating. Knowing this, it is my mission to ensure my clients feel comfortable and safe. The last thing I want to do is have therapy be an additional stress!

My office is located in Hermosa Beach and I have provided counseling and therapy services to teens and adults of all ages in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, Torrance, and throughout the South Bay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy right for me?
Is online therapy right for me?

Although there are many advantages of online therapy, it may not be the best fit for everyone. Online therapy is an option for those experiencing mild to moderate symptoms, who are comfortable using technology, and have a quiet, private place to have their sessions. During our phone consultation, we can determine the best format for your therapy sessions.

Do you offer sessions over the phone?

Yes! Some clients enjoy the benefits of walk and talk therapy. Rhythmic exercise like walking is an amazing resource! It brings a little movement into the session which can be enriching and refreshing. If we ever experience technical difficulties with our video platform, we can also utilize the phone to have our sessions.

I do not recommend phone sessions on a recurring basis or if you plan to be driving. If the car is the only space available for session, it should remain parked and clients should be alone to maintain confidentiality similar to an in person or online session.

Is everything we talk about confidential?

Confidentiality is a key component of creating a safe and secure therapeutic experience. In general, what is discussed in therapy stays in therapy. There are some exceptions to this as a mandated reporter which are addressed in the intake paperwork and will be discussed in the first session.

Does confidentiality still apply if you are a minor?

Yes! I provide teens with a safe space to be themselves. This includes maintaining confidentiality and only involving parents as necessary to support their growth and development. However, safety is top priority. There are some exceptions to this and parents will be notified as addressed in paperwork and in the first session. I am more than happy to meet with parents periodically throughout treatment to learn about their observations and discuss ways to further support them or their child.
